My name is Brett Livaudais. I currently work at UCR as an enterprise application developer where I make dynamic, database driven sites that work for phones, tablets, and PCs. I am looking to freelance on the side. Before working at UCR, I worked at a web development shop in Lafayette, LA where I had over 400 clients, many of whom were high profile, high traffic sites. I have done sites for large real estate companies, famous TV chefs, ATV companies, and nearly any ecommerce niche you can imagine.
While employed at UCR, I have risen to the position of lead web developer. My main tasks include developing both public and internal websites and applications all of which get tens of thousands of hits a day, as well as work with my team of developers to create cohesive, functional, streamlined websites. Part of my duties include meeting with stakeholders, developing the scope document, scheduling, and seeing the project through the execution phase to completion. In my time at UCR, I have also assisted in interviewing and selecting candidates for positions in our department.
At Firefly Digital, I was heavily involved in the design and development of customized websites including private sector sites as well as educational and training sites. I also researched emerging technologies determining how my company might benefit. I have had the opportunity to work directly with users to determine requirements, develop and present designs for approval. I was the lead programmer on dozens of extremely large scale projects, leading teams of up to three other full time programmers.
